BOOST is a small but mighty consulting group that works with government contractors. We offer our services in the areas of accounting/finance, contracts/procurement, HR, talent acquisition, and strategic advisory services. Check out our website at boostllc.net. As our HR Manager, you will handle all of our internal HR needs. This position is hands-on and can be super high-level yet also totally in the weeds, all at the same time. This position will be 100% remote, as BOOST is a virtual company. This position is part time (25-30 hours per week) but has the potential to become full-time.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Human Resources:
    • Oversee the daily workflow of HR functions in the company – in other words, keep us running and thriving!
    • Consult with senior management on strategic planning; and serve as a link between the organization's management and its employees
    • Create and execute employee outreach and engagement activities – virtual Happy Hours, monthly newsletter, in person activities, virtual HR educational brown bag lunches, employee gifts, and other activities to enhance the company’s culture
    • Support and enhance BOOST’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
    • Provide guidance, knowledge, and best practices to the leadership team surrounding employee relation topics. Really. We want to hear your ideas; we want to hear the risks involved and we want to make informed decisions.
    • Manage the pre-employment onboarding process and conduct new hire orientations. You are one of the first people our new folks meet, and we want you to get them acclimated and comfortable and get a feel for our culture from the very first time you speak with them.
    • Work to build an official career progression track within BOOST for our team; Standardize job descriptions/categories with a clear track for progression (we are growing, and we want our folks to stick with us for the long haul!)
    • Analyze trends in benefits to attract and retain employees, reduce benefit costs, and maximize the company benefit dollars (work with some partners as well!)
    • Maintain 401K compliance, review, and process semi-monthly payroll with the Controller, maintain HRIS portal
    • Maintain compliance and updates with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
    • Review policies and practices to maintain compliance in the company handbook – you know, keep us out of hot water and on top of it all!
    • Maintain and update the performance review process and documents, work with managers to ensure performance review process is implemented
    • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, and investigations, and termination of employees in accordance with company policy (thankfully, this is pretty darn rare)
    • Initiate and lead HR compliance matters as appropriate throughout the year for our organization
Required Skills And Qualifications For Our Ideal Candidate
  • Eight or more years’ experience in general HR activities, preferably in high-growth, fast-paced, and progressive environments. Small business experience is a plus!
  • At least four years’ experience in HR management leading the department for the organization.
  • Understanding and experience with most or all the core aspects of Human Resource management; benefits administration, HRIS management, implementing HR processes and programs (e.g., employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, coaching/training, reward/recognition), and analyzing and presenting on HR related data.
  • Demonstrated HR and legal acumen in the areas of compliance, processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of governmental laws, insurance plans, and technical information.
    • effective working knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HSA, FSA, 401k, etc., and related state and federal regulations
  • Experience developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures that comply with required laws and are consistent with BOOST’s philosophy and culture.
  • Experience implementing and reporting on metrics to help guide decision-making that enables senior management to better manage and develop the organization.
  • Demonstrate confident communication skills with the ability to effectively present to all levels of the organization.
Education/ Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • PHR/SHRM/CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred
