Position Overview: One of our contracts under The Department of State is seeking a Linux/Cloud Platform Engineer II to join their program. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM/Bicep, Linux administration, and Azure cloud technologies. This role involves managing, maintaining, and expanding our Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Container ecosystem within a hybrid cloud environment. Candidates must have relevant experience and be willing to support physical server equipment. The position is part of a team committed to modern DevOps practices, requiring strong scripting skills for developing and troubleshooting automation and deployment scripts. While the environment is primarily Windows-based, experience operating Linux servers in secure, Active Directory-managed organizations is an advantage.
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must possess and an active Top-Secret clearance
Work Location: Springfield, VA
Work Schedule (Onsite): Five (5) days a week onsite to start, with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule in the future
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Azure cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Administer Red Hat Virtual Machines
• Manage physical server hardware and ensure operational performance
• Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD and automation
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker
• Develop and continuously implement infrastructure and operational best practices
• Contribute to scripts and tools to enhance Operational and Developer efficiency (DevEx)

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
• 5 Years developing and deploying infrastructure using IaC (preferably ARM / Bicep)
• 5 Years Linux Administration
• 3 Years managing Azure Cloud Infrastructure
• Strong proficiency with a scripting language such as PowerShell or Bash
• Experience managing physical server hardware
• Working knowledge Docker for building and running applications in containers
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD
• Familiarity with operational visibility and aggregating logs and metrics for system and application monitoring

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with App Service Environment
• Experience with ElasticSearch
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience managing Linux VMs in a Windows Active Directory Environment
• Experience deploying and managing GPU intensive workloads in enterprise environments
• Experience with Python
• Knowledge of common build tools such as NPM and MSBuild
• General understanding of running and managing ML Models as part of a CI/CD pipeline
