The vision of Booth Creek Wagyu (BCW) is to become the leading direct to consumer premium meat company in the US! BCW is a Wagyu beef and seed stock company based in the Flint Hills outside of Manhattan, Kansas. By leveraging the strategic advantages of raising and feeding Wagyu cattle in the Midwest, we are cutting out layers in the current industry. BCW encompasses top 1% genetics, best practice feeding and husbandry, and our own processing facilities. Current distribution includes our own meat market retail stores, a seafood shop, ecommerce, and select wholesale accounts. The Retail Associate will be an energetic fan of seafood and beef, working in our seafood shop located in Wichita, KS. This position will be responsible for assisting customers by providing samples and maintaining great customer service. Additional duties will include maintaining the register, selling seafood/Wagyu, stocking, and cleaning. The individual hired for this role will be a high-energy, positive person who enjoys working with friendly teammates in a supportive, and fun work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Care

• Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter the store.
• Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions to their seafood and beef needs.
• Working with cash registers and processing payments
• Preparing samples for tasting
• Giving customers advice about sales and promotions
• Using upselling techniques to increase store sales.
• Collaborate on receiving and restocking inventory.

Teamwork & Self-Accountability

• Ability to work cohesively with their team in a respectful and professional manner.
• Effectively communicates both orally and written.
• Maintains a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of their position.
• Maintains consistent time and attendance standards.
• Follows company dress code guidelines for professional and safe standards.
• Is on time for scheduled shifts and in the case of an emergency, calls in advance of their shift to allow time for proper coverage.
• Takes their own development as a personal responsibility and uses mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance.

Steward of Building Care & Cleanliness

• Continually monitor cleanliness of sampling kitchen and retail shop
• Perform daily cleaning assignments which may include, but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, running the dishwasher and cleaning freezers.
• Follow standard cleaning procedures including proper use of chemicals to ensure a safe environment.

Part Time - Weekends Only

• Customer Service preferred, but not required.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours, bend repetitively, and use cleaning products to disinfect and sanitize.
• Ability to move quickly throughout the shop while maintaining composure and keeping a smile!
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 40 lbs.
