Overview :

The Filler Operator is an important part of our production floor. The Operator runs and maintains fillers in a continuous flow vat to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specific methods and formulas.

As a Filler Operator, you will be responsible for quality, food safety and product specifications.

Responsibilities :

• Clean, set-up, operate and monitor filler equipment.
• Complete all required quality checks and documentation
• Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
• Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product
• Make adjustments to filler timing and filling; check vat as needed.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
• Perform filler equipment and filler line changeovers for next run safely
• Working knowledge with wrapper operations; watch for jams and effectively thread product wrap
• Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run
• Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies
• Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced
• Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic math competency required to perform calculations
• Overtime and working on holidays are often required.
• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Occasionally required to climb or balance.

Frequently lift and / or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move more than 35 pounds.

• Must be able to work in a wet environment
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
• Exposure to nut allergens

Supervisory Responsibility : None

Working Conditions :

Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Language Skills :

Ability to communicate in English is required; however, bilingual skills may be preferred based on business necessity.
