As an AmeriCorps member serving in the New American Integration Program, you will
join a cohort of up to 30 NAIP members to serve at partner sites across Massachusetts
to provide job readiness training, ESOL/civics instruction, and/or citizenship application
assistance. For the 2022-2023 AmeriCorps service year, BCNC will host two NAIP
members at two separate locations – one in Boston and one in Quincy.
Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC-Q)
The Quincy NAIP AmeriCorps member at BCNC will be responsible for providing:
1) Educational and career advising to beginner ESOL students
2) ESOL classes integrated with job readiness and life skills
3) citizenship instruction to immigrants eligible for U.S. naturalization
4) Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and/or Cantonese is required
Schedule & Location: Quincy, Mon & Wed, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Tues, Thurs, & Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM;
some flexibility.
Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC-B)
The Boston NAIP AmeriCorps member at BCNC will be responsible for providing:
1) English conversation classes for beginning level adult English learners
2) Citizenship classes for immigrants eligible for U.S. naturalization
3) Educational and career advising to beginner to intermediate ESOL students
4) Facilitating the student council of the adult English language learners
5) Assisting with a wide variety of other activities to support the Adult Education program as the need
arises, and utilizing your interests and giftings
Schedule & Location: Boston/Chinatown, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday; some flexibility
