**Job Description**
The Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery office, located in O'Neill Library is part of the Access Services Department. This position supports all aspects of interlibrary loan and document delivery, with a focus on borrowing workflows. The successful candidate will work in a high-volume, collaborative, service-centered environment responsible for processing complex, time-sensitive requests submitted by Boston College community members and users from other universities and colleges worldwide.
The Access Service/ILL Assistant is expected to employ a variety of search tools: library catalogs, proprietary databases, and journals, as well as resource-sharing systems and platforms including ILLiad, Alma, and OCLC. The Access Service/ILL Assistant is expected to utilize advanced research skills to verify, complete, compare, or correct bibliographic information included in users requests. To accomplish this, the incumbent must understand, and be able to interpret, apply, and convey copyright guidelines including Fair Use Guidelines, CONTU Guidelines, the U.S. Code, Title 17, Section 108 (e) & (g), as well as all elements of interlibrary loan code and copyright law as it pertains to interlibrary loan. The Access Service/ILL Assistant is also responsible for training student workers on various aspects of ILL borrowing including content retrieval, both physical and digital; processing of incoming mail, processing returned items, reviewing overdue notices, completing tasks related to the fulfillment of Rapid Local requests, and processing basic borrowing requests.
Additionally, the Access Service/ILL Assistant provides coverage at various service desks and is responsible for opening the ONeill Library and Bapst Library on Saturday mornings, as well as training, supervising, and monitoring the work of student employees during these hours. When facilities or public safety emergencies arise, the Assistant serves as the point person to report issues with campus police and auxiliary services.

**HOURS:** Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Hiring Range: $22.69/hr to $28.35/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
**Requirements**
Requirements: Minimum of one year of library support experience, preferably in Interlibrary Loan
Preferred:
? Bachelors degree
? Foreign language abilities
? Familiarity with cataloging records and classification systems
? Two years of ILL experience
? Two years of experience with OCLC
? Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
