Boston Metal is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Woburn, MA

Title: Electrical Control Technician

Duration: 8 month contract

Location: Woburn, MA

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control panel wiring, as well as the ability to supervise electrical contractors' work according to drawings.

Responsibility:

  • Perform control panel wiring, commissioning, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Supervise electrical contractors to ensure work aligns with provided drawings.
  • Design and build control testing and simulation setups.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative automation solutions.
  • Interacting with various vendors (suppliers and other contractors).
  • Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change over.
  • Support build, test, and commission (off hours might be needed).
  • Provide timely and effective technical support, resolving wiring issues when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an electrician or technician.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with PLC control systems and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, and Profibus is preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:

  • SCADA systems: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Electrician: 2 years (Required)
  • PLC control systems: 2 years (Preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Woburn, MA 01801: Relocate before starting work (Required)
