Position: RN Operating Room
Location: 120 East Harris Avenue San Angelo, TX 76903
Job Type: Contract/Travel
Pay range: $54 - 60/hr
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN-OR) to join our dynamic team. Duties:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or complications during the surgical procedure.
- Perform pre- and post-operative assessments to ensure patient readiness for surgery and to identify any potential complications.
- Assist with specimen collection and processing, as needed.
- Utilize medical imaging technology to visualize patient anatomy and facilitate surgical procedures.
- Provide primary care and geriatric care to patients with diverse health needs.
- Participate in emergency room procedures, applying knowledge of emergency medicine to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain knowledge of standards and best practices in the operating room, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support patients with infant care needs, providing nurturing and supportive care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy, including blood draw and collection procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Stay current with advancements in medical technology and surgical techniques.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where the position is located.
- Completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Experience in an operating room or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical imaging technology.
- Ability to provide primary care and geriatric care.
- Knowledge of emergency room procedures and standards.
- Familiarity with assisted living environments and the needs of geriatric patients.
- Skill in phlebotomy and specimen collection and processing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
