Job Description
The Department of Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Public Health is seeking applications for fully funded postdoctoral research associates in environmental and molecular epidemiology. Successful candidates will participate in NIH- and DoD-funded epidemiologic research under the mentorship of Dr. Maria Argos, utilizing data sources from US- and international-based cohorts. The general research focus will be on understanding the interplay between environmental exposures and molecular phenotypes and determining their roles in cardiometabolic disease risk and prostate cancer risk and prognosis.
Ideal candidates will have strong statistical and programming skills in R and strong scientific writing skills. Candidates with experience analyzing and managing large-scale “omics” datasets will be strongly preferred.
Postdoctoral research associates will be mentored to pursue independent research careers. The Department of Environmental Health has a structured post-doctoral program with formal mentorship and career development opportunities. This includes support and training in grant preparation and manuscript writing, opportunities to present at national and international conferences, and engagement in the mentorship of students or classroom teaching if of interest to the applicant. This position offers a competitive compensation package (commensurate with experience), a tailored benefits package, and generous paid time off. This is structured as a 12-month position with potential for continuation in future years.
