Description

The Underwater department is seeking a CAD Technician. In this role you will be a technology advocate. You must possess an engineering background with a concentration on technology and applicable software along with a passion for technology and learning.

Responsibilities:

• This position will be responsible for serving as primary departmental resource for CAD drafting/modeling at the project level
• CAD drafting/modeling will be performed in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards
• Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting/modeling and survey standards on a departmental level, as directed
• Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to produce quality drawings 
• Make drawing edits based on mark ups from client and/or Engineers 
• Create and/or modify base drawings
• Be relied on as productive team member and CAD user to work a typical set of project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output that conforms to company or client standards 
• Be able to work on multiple projects at the same time 
• Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Applicable Certification/Technical Trainings with 3 years of experience in in CAD drafting/modeling at the project level
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong software troubleshooting skills
• CAD Standards checking
• Strong knowledge of PCs and networking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• PE/FE/EIT certification is a plus
• Knowledge of survey data collection workflows is a plus
• Possess a strong technical and communication skills.
