At Bottle Rocket, our Experience Design (XD) team is a combination of world-class, multi-disciplinary designers and researchers who create innovative and successful products, services and experiences for an array of industries, many of them Fortune 1000 brands. Our team specializes in experience visioning and strategy, visual and interaction design, as well as robust research competencies to inform, validate and evolve the experiences we create. We're looking for a Product Designer to deliver intuitive digital designs in a compelling way. You will advocate for the user while working with stakeholder needs to prioritize for success. You are passionate about translating solutions into usable UI, and working through deep nuances of screen-to-screen interactions.
What Your Next Opportunity Looks Like
1. Responsible for creating low-fi to high-fi flows, wireframes and screens defining the navigation, interaction design and use cases for features within a larger product.
2. Define and apply UI patterns, explore concepts with stakeholders and guide them through intuitive design experiences.
3. Excellent at communicating design decisions, negotiating trade-offs and communicating with team and stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Project Managers on requirements, constraints, and timelines to deliver quality and human-centered designs.
5. Work with a client's existing design team to understand and enhance work already done, identify any gaps in current thinking and create definition within ambiguity.
6. Prioritize deliverables based on client needs. Work within the client's limitations while representing the user's interests.
7. Maintain backlog of potential UX improvements and their benefits to the client.
8. Capture and synthesize information from usability tests, discovery sessions, research and more into actionable insights and recommendations.
9. Partner with Product, Engineers, and UX to understand new opportunities that apply to clients' needs.
What You Will Bring
1. 2-4 years of experience in a design related role (e.g.: Product Designer, Experience Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect, Visual Designer, etc.).
2. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design experiences, including web and native app projects
3. Ability to include graphic design elements into your work that establish a product's look and feel, interprets a brand into a digital space and makes the most of motion design and animation.
4. Working knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Google's Material Design patterns as applied to iOS and Android app design, as well as principles of responsive web
5. Strong background in using Figma, prototyping, and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
6. Ability to manage work autonomously and lead projects as the only designer
7. Ability to manage complex design problems, and find multiple creative solutions to problems and approaches to the work
8. Willingness to show work in progress in a highly collaborative work environment
9. Ability to articulate constructive design critiques and contribute ideas to improve other designers' work
