Position Summary:

We have an opening for a dynamic and self-motivated Cloud Engineer. This role will have a focus on automation and streamlining processes in a fast-paced SaaS-based environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Working closely with the Development, QA, DBA’s, System Administration, Networking, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure the successful development and rollout of application and platform improvements.
• Problem diagnosis and resolutions
• Automation of important operational processes
• Participating in after-hours-on-call rotation

Desired Skills:

• General scripting skills for automation of administrative actions
• Experience with scripting languages: Bash, Ruby, Perl
• Basic SQL knowledge
• Problem triage/solving skills and ability to work independently and with a team to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• Experience with containerization and management of using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, or similar.
• Experience with configuration management and CI/CD and related tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Capistrano, GitLab or similar.
• Experience with application / system monitoring and logging using tools like Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana or similar.
• High level of comfort working with the Linux command line.
• Familiarity with deploying Java application technologies like Tomcat, SpringBoot, JBoss, or similar.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science related field or equivalent work experience
• 3 years of experience configuring and maintaining middleware and web/application environments.
• 3 years of previous systems, application, or DevOps experience
