What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Director of Security Operations position at Bottomline?
The Role
This role will work closely with the CISO to strengthen and enforce Bottomline’s information security strategy, policy and operations.
As Senior Director of Security Operations, you will oversee day to day security operations and assist in management of strategic initiatives. This includes overseeing Vulnerability Management, Data Protection, Threat Monitoring and Incident Response. The role also acts as the primary backup to the CISO when needed for presenting or decision making in Committees and Sr Leadership meeting.
The role reports to the CISO and leads a Global team of professional services, security engineers and analysts.
This role can be hybrid or 100% remote (preference will be given to Atlanta and or Eastern Time Zone)
How you’ll contribute
Leadership and Strategy – define, build and maintain a comprehensive security operations strategy aligned with organization goals.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high performing security operations team
- Develops and provides strategy, vision and direction to multiple functions. Implements company-wide policies and practices.
- Interacts with internal and external executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters Influences policymaking and strategy based on communication strategies and persuasion skills.
- Leads activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and services through subordinate directors / managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of assigned areas.
- External Attack Surface Management – assessment and assurance of the security posture of our attack surface management
- Vulnerability Management – identification, assessment and reporting of vulnerabilities
- Data Protection – identifying and protecting sensitive data from loss or unauthorized exposure
- Threat Intelligence – gathering, analyzing and assessing potential impact of security threats to the organization
- Security Monitoring – collecting, analyzing and assessing data to detect and respond to malicious activity across the environment
- Incident Response – managing and resolving security incidents

- 15 years of experience in Cybersecurity
- 7 years of experience in leadership
- Bachelor’s degree
- In depth knowledge across all core domains – Security Architecture, Application Security, Vulnerability Management, Data Protection, Network Security and Endpoint Security
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry frameworks – SWIFT, PCI, GLBA, FFIEC
