Bouldering Project is Hiring an Operations Coordinator- Seattle University District Near Seattle, WA

Operations Coordinators are the guide for front desk staff in creating a welcoming, accessible, smooth, and high-quality experience at Seattle Bouldering Project.
Responsible for coordinating staffing, retail, training, and cross-departmental logistics for the front desk team, the Operations Coordinators brings enthusiasm, vision, and leadership to the hub of the gym: the front desk.
Staff Management
    • Interview, hire, train, manage, evaluate performance, and facilitate growth opportunities for all ops staff. Hire, train, and maintain performance of operations team. Provide direct leadership and supervision of operations team on all floor activities.
    • Schedule staff via organized, economical, and efficient staffing systems.
    • Manage with positivity, flexibility, and a growth mindset. Model exceptionally high customer experience attitudes and behaviors. Maintain employee motivation and job satisfaction via positive, dynamic leadership and support. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring and actively leading the operations team in the BP customer service vision and values.
    • Maintain discipline, quality, and professionalism among staff.
    • Plan and implement monthly department meetings for team success and alignment with goals
    • Support, enable and assist the Operations Supervisors in overseeing floor activities
    • Communicate with management and staff, as needed, to ensure operational quality and consistency across gym offerings.
    • Communicate with staff to understand the real-time needs of the facility. Track staff feedback forms frequently asked questions to stay on top of department trends.
    • Assist the accounting department with payroll and keeping HR systems up to date
Facility Coordination
    • Support the Facility Manager in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient facility.
    • Ensure that facilities and equipment remain clean, functioning, and high quality.
    • Quickly communicate/coordinate re: facility repairs and needs.
    • Ensure facility supplies are in stock; including cleaning and member supplies.
Retail Oversight
    • Maintain retail vision, stocking levels, and inventory replenishment processes
    • Ensure that all Operations Specialists maintain retail stocking and presentation.
    • Maintain organized, clean, and thoughtfully-arranged retail and lobby areas.
    • Create, maintain and ensure training on retail inventory and POS processes and incorporate Approach software.
    • Conduct monthly physical inventories to provide accounting and monitor retail loss prevention.
    • Create retail-specific brand events and offer learning experiences for the operations team.
Other Duties
    • Serve as Operations Specialist, or other roles as needed. Expectation of this role is approximately 20 hours on desk each week during peak hours, training and mentoring operations team.
    • Accountable for financial and labor hours budgets for the Operations department.
    • Lead weekly meetings with the supervisor team. Attend weekly/biweekly leadership team meetings. Expect to have weekly check-ins with the AGM and/or GM.
    • Be proactive in professional development and work with the AGM/GM on continual leadership development.
    • Work with leadership to organize and staff BP events, and work with the Marketing Team as promotions occur.
    • Department coordination for events (regionals, boulderfest, etc) and ongoing Seattle Market projects and promos (member appreciation month, summer series, etc)
Risk Management
    • Maintain and create efficient systems to intake, communicate, and lead the incident reporting process.
    • Practice and support risk management.
    • Act as Incident Commander in an emergency in the building.
    • Ensure all programs have sufficient emergency support through systems and notification sequences.
Interpersonal Contacts/ Working Conditions
    • It is imperative to maintain excitement about the culture and community at the Bouldering Project. The Operations Coordinators are at the forefront of this aspect of the gym. The Operations Coordinators lead the staff in supporting the Bouldering Project community and must conduct themselves accordingly.
    • Duties require the availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and events, including evenings and weekends. Shifts generally include peak-hour times and weekends
Qualifications
    • 2 years leadership experience working with a team of 15 staff members.
    • Additional leadership experience is helpful.
    • Retail and scheduling experience and proficiency in Approach is helpful.
    • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office suites
    • A basic understanding of accounting principles
$26 - $32 an hour
