USC Online is seeking an Instructional Designer to design and develop online courses for graduate-level programs that address the unique needs of professionals seeking to advance their careers. Working closely with subject matter experts, faculty, and staff, this role supports efforts to create programs that empower students to have the confidence to achieve what’s next. This role requires excellent communication skills, demonstrated instructional design skills, and knowledge and passion for instructional design in an online learning environment. Experience using learning management systems is required. Additionally, the successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to problem solve, think critically, and be able to adjust to a rapidly changing environment. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, staff fixed-term position with a contract from 10/1/2024 to 10/31/2025.

Job Accountabilities
Collaborates with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts in creating and implementing learning outcomes for online graduate-level courses, aligning outcomes with appropriate learning activities and assessments to meet production timelines.
Creates course design materials and other related materials to appropriately document course content.
Fosters a team approach, working closely with subject matter experts, faculty, and staff to create high-quality, high-impact course materials.
Facilitates the design and implementation of new, pedagogically sound online instructional designs, learning activities and strategies, and engaging user experiences.
Ensures proper access and accessibility to people with disabilities and follows good practice regarding educational assessment methods, teaching strategies, and more.

The annual base salary for this position is $79,228.97. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
