Boyer Childrens Clinic is Hiring an Intake Specialist - Medical Near Seattle, WA

Boyer Children's Clinic is currently seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Intake Specialist ' Medical. The Intake Specialist - Medical is responsible for guiding families through the intake process for the Early Support for Infant and Toddlers (ESIT) program for medically fragile children, as well as handling special projects within the Intake Department that require a nursing (or related) degree and experience. This position also provides acute medical care in the event of an emergency and serves as a resource for Boyer staff with medical questions related to their assigned caseload.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • For medically fragile children:
    • Coordinate with Referral Coordinator on new ESIT referrals.
    • Complete intake process for those children.
    • Obtain and review medical and developmental history of newly referred children and identify any qualifying medical diagnoses for ESIT services or any potential vision and/or hearing concerns of the child.
    • Administer a developmental assessment with an additional intake provider (therapist or educator) to determine ESIT eligibility of child.
    • Review enrollment paperwork with each family and process all paperwork to enroll or discharge a child from the ESIT program.
    • Coordinate with the assigned family resource coordinator, as well as the therapy, medical, and education department to determine next steps for ESIT services.
    • Coordinate with community providers that are involved in child's care.
  • Provide medical services as needed; such as caring for acute medical needs (e.g. injury, seizures, sudden illness); assessing health care needs (e.g. nutrition, dental, vision, and hearing); coordinating medical care with community medical providers; attending outside clinics, hospitals, or conferences for children entering our programs.
  • Provide community outreach by participating in programs with other professional groups in the community who provide services for and/or work with children with disabling conditions, acting as a liaison with other community agencies, providing input from the community in program planning,
  • Support clients in the Medicaid process, identifying clients potentially eligible for Medicaid and assisting in the application process; providing training, care coordination, assistance with access, program planning, interagency coordination and administrative functions in support of Medicaid programs.
  • Manage or participate in special projects for the Intake Department, including but not limited to:
    • Organizing and scheduling medical clinics and maintaining communication with Boyer's Medical Director; support Medical Director during the evaluations conducted at the clinics by keeping notes and following up with families as needed for referrals and/or additional resources.
    • Leading health projects/grants at Boyer Children's Clinic to improve services and/or the health/well-being of our staff and families we serve.
    • Participate in the development and execution of specific intake teams to improve services to specific medically fragile populations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation
  • $62,496 - $84,554 annually, depending on experience.
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel RequirementsThe work environment for this position is a typical office environment. The physical demands for this position requires the employee to use computers and sit/stand in an office environment. Travel requirements include the ability to transport oneself between offices as necessary, on a daily basis. Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers' license and automobile insurance if driving a vehicle.
