About Us Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area is the leading youth development agency in Central Texasserving more than 7,100 registered members each year. With 30 Clubs and four outreach programs across Austin, Bastrop and Elgin, we provide a safe place, caring adults and high-impact development programs that help local economically disadvantaged youth ages 618 reach their full potential during out-of-school ti...me. Since opening our doors in Austin in 1967, we have increased our impact and established ourselves as positive difference-makers in the lives and neighborhoods of those we serve. During the past three years, more than 99% of Club member seniors graduated from high school on timecompared to 84% in AISD and 88% across Texas. Club kids also achieve better grades and higher school attendance rates, and theyre more likely to attend college after graduation than their non-member peers. Each day, we aim to inspire and celebrate our communitys young peopleespecially those who need us mostand work to provide them with the tools and opportunities to build great futures, one day at a time. Emphasizing academic success, good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles, our Club programs, services, and opportunities promote and enhance the development of youth by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and pride in their communities. Nationally, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves millions of youth across 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and on domestic and international U.S. military bases.
