Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is Hiring a Development Assistant Near Clifton, NJ

Description

The Development Assistant provides overall support to the Resource Development (RD) department. RD is responsible for raising philanthropic funds through individuals, special events, grants, corporate partnerships, and other fundraising initiatives. RD also manages marketing and public relations initiatives for the Club including social media, newsletters, printed materials, and advertising. 

The Development Assistant works closely with the Special Events and Marketing Coordinator, the Director of Resource Development, and Club C Suite leadership including the CEO and COO, and Executive Assistant. 

Requirements

1. Manages the Resource Development Data Base/CRM to ensure all donations are carefully recorded. 

• Reconciles donations with business office.

• Manages the donation acknowledgment process including generating thank you letters for all donations including special event participation.

• Creates reports through CRM to analyze fundraising initiatives.

• Creates donation forms through CRM to support online registrations and donations.

2. Contributes to the planning and implementation of special events. 

• Works with RD and Club staff and volunteers to coordinate activities, facilitate communications, and plan fundraising initiatives to attain best financial outcomes. 

• Provide ongoing evaluation of fundraising initiatives and provides recommendations for modifying events to improve success.

• Willingness to design and create special event elements including signage, décor, seating, registration process as well as breakdown and clean up.

• Organize and inventory RD equipment including monitoring storage closet. This includes event supplies, decorations, tables, frames, etc.

3. Supports Direct Mail initiatives including mail merge.

4. Ability (or willingness to learn) to support marketing efforts including social media outreach, email newsletter, and manage updates to website.

5. May be requested to support administrative and office staff to complete various projects and the business of the organization.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External: Maintains professional contact with members, donors, volunteers.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent, higher education preferred

• One year of nonprofit experience, Development experience preferred

• Experience with database management

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Docs, Canva (preferred) and use of common office equipment

• Experience (or a willingness to learn) website management (Word Press)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organization and attention to detail

• Strong customer relations skills

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality

• Flexibility and a willingness to support other areas of the Club when necessary
