Boys & Girls Club of Placer County is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Roseville, CA

TITLE: FRONT DESK SPECIALIST – SUMMER PROGRAM TERM

JOB CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT, TEMPORARY (potential fall rehire)

LOCATION / PAY / HOURS: ROSEVILLE / starting $17.00 per hour / 25-35 hrs per week

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Front Desk Specialist, under the supervision of the Site Director, is responsible for operating the front desk and reception area at our downtown Roseville "UPR" Clubhouse. Your role is providing quality customer service and welcome, tracking and documenting daily attendance, and ensuring the safety and supervision of Club members. Must be cooperative, friendly, and detail-oriented. Abides by and supports the Club's mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens.

KEY ROLES (ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES):

· Operates and manages the front desk and reception area of one of our Clubhouses.

· Provides quality customer service by meeting and greeting the public, parents, Club members, and outside groups entering the facility.

· Promotes an environment of safety, welcome, and belonging for all members of the Club community.

· Secures the main entrance/exit to the Club by monitoring and tracking the movement of all who come to the Club. Tracks daily membership and program attendance; creates daily attendance rosters.

· Maintains membership system and communicates with parents/guardians about membership, as needed.

· Maintains the upkeep, safety, security, and appearance of the Front Desk and reception area, keeping it clean, well-maintained, and attractive at all times.

· Answers all calls and transfers to appropriate staff members.

· Communicates necessary information (both verbally and by the distribution of written materials) to members, families, and the public about upcoming events, field trips, and activities.

· Tracks and reports to supervisor when supplies are low at the front desk.

· Develops and maintains relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians to help manage behavior, disciplinary, and health issues and recognize members for good work.

· Abides by the Boys & Girls Club of Placer County policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook.

· Abides by Federal and State Laws.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Pass FBI and DOJ background checks.

· Negative TB test.

· For fall rehire, successful completion of the Proficiency Test unless waived due to completion of 48 college-level units.

· Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification. Club provided annually (June 11, 2024)

· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

· Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Internet proficiency.

· Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

· Ability to make quick and sound decisions.

· Strong customer relations skills.

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

· Must wear appropriate staff uniform while working at Boys & Girls Club of Placer County or attending authorized events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -- WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Regularly required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk and hear.

· Frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.

· Occasionally required to stoop or kneel.

· Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
