Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) 
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) 
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt 
Job Summary: 
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the overall financial management, business planning, and budgeting of the Boys & Girls Clubs. The CFO will oversee the financial operations, manage financial risks, and provide strategic financial guidance to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit financial management and a passion for the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs. 
Key Responsibilities: 
Financial Strategy & Planning: 
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and mission. 
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasting and modeling. 
Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on financial matters, including opportunities, risks, and strategic decisions. 
Financial Management & Reporting: 
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, payroll, and grants management. 
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, annual audits, and tax filings. 
Monitor cash flow and financial performance, ensuring the organization’s financial health. 
Risk Management: 
Identify and manage financial risks, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. 
Oversee the organization’s insurance and risk management programs. 
Team Leadership & Development: 
Supervise and mentor the finance and grants management team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. 
Provide professional development opportunities for finance staff to enhance their skills and capabilities. 
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into program planning and operations. 
Board & Stakeholder Relations: 
Serve as a liaison to the Board’s Finance Committee, preparing reports and presentations for board meetings. 
Work closely with donors, funders, and other stakeholders to manage financial aspects of grants and donations. 
Ensure transparency and accountability in all financial dealings with external partners. 
Qualifications: 
Education & Experience: 
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred. 
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role. 
Experience in nonprofit financial management, including managing multiple funding sources (e.g., grants, donations, program fees).
Skills & Competencies: 
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. 
Expert level proficiency in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or other accounting software. 
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset. 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences. 
High level of integrity and commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs. 
Working Conditions: 
The position may require occasional evening or weekend work. 
Some travel may be required for training, meetings, or conferences. 
Compensation: 
Salary: $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
