Position Summery

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend is seeking applicants to join our part-time, afterschool care team. This role is ideal for anyone who loves working with children and wants a set daily, part time schedule with weekends off. Candidates will only be considered who are 18 and over, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and can pass a background check and drug screening.

Our Youth Development Professionals work one on one with groups of children with ages ranging from 5 to 18yrs old at our traditional club site or afterschool sites. We envision this role to have potential to gain experience in early childhood licensed childcare facilitation and minimum standards and making a difference in a child’s life.

As a Youth Development Professional your role breaks down into 3 functions:

· Prepare Youth for Success: being a positive role model and providing a safe space and nurturing environment to spend afterschool hours.

· Maintain Health and Safety: ensure all local school district, state, and organizational standards for health, safety, and security are being met while children are in our care.

· Planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities: plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all programs, services, and activities.

Hiring Process

· Round 1 phone screening and possible scheduling of in-person interview

· Round 2 in-person interview, initial paperwork, background checks and drug screening

· Round 3 in-person onboarding paperwork and paid pre-service training online classes

· Round 4 on floor with assigned group of children

Benefits include

· Set weekly schedule of Monday through Friday 2:30-6pm (during intersessions and summers potential for increased hours if desired)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
