Automotive Dealership Controller
Full Description
We looking to fill a Controller position for one of our clients. The Controller reports directly to the CFO and oversees the daily accounting operations of the business. The Controller maintains an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, ensure the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and maximize profit. In addition, the Controller will supervise the daily accounting operations to ensure efficient cash management, a smooth flow of all transactions, clean accounting records, and recording of all transactions in compliance with the Company’s accounting processes and internal controls. The Controller is also tasked with developing periodic financial reports that comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares and analyzes financial statements and monthly reports
· Oversees vendor management and outsourcing
· Maintains an orderly accounting system
· Oversees accounts payable/receivable
· Completes periodic bank reconciliations
· Issues timely and complete financial statements
· Complies with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
· Provides daily operating control report
· Maintains effective cash management system
· Ensures accounting staff is cross trained
· Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors
· Processes insurance claims and liability insurance
· Reports significant budget variances to the Dealer Principal
· Oversees compliance with the company's internal control program.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related industry preferred
· Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive and relevant experience in the automotive industry
· Experienced with business applications and accounting software.
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
· Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with guests, vendors, and staff
· Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately
· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and duties simultaneously
· Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
· Highly professional and dependable
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
