Bradley University is Hiring an Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Programs Near Peoria, IL

The Associate Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs is a full-time research administration position in the Division of Academic Affairs at Bradley University. The Associate Director will work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) Director and the office assistant to support faculty and staff seeking external funding to conduct research, scholarship, creative work, curricular and pedagogical initiatives, and educational outreach. In addition, the OSP administers internal grant programs to which Bradley employees and students may apply, and it hosts events showcasing scholarly production. This is an on-campus position with some scheduled remote work possible. The initial appointment is from the hire date until no later than May 31, 2029, when the position will be evaluated for an extension.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Director with:

  • Developing and maintaining a database of faculty research and scholarship interests;
  • Identifying funding opportunities for the campus community;
  • Preparing a monthly newsletter;
  • Maintaining the OSP’s website;
  • Co-hosting or hosting professional development workshops;
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance for the preparation and submission of grant proposals;
  • Preparing boiler-plate information for proposals;
  • Editing and reviewing all aspects of proposals (including budgets) before submission;
  • Tracking proposal submissions, awards, rejections, and resubmissions;
  • Leading post-award kick-off meetings;
  • Administering internal award programs;
  • Delivering events showcasing the scholarly activity of students, faculty, and staff;
  • Preparing reports and communications to both internal academic units and external agencies;
  • Overseeing OSP compliance assignments;
  • Keeping abreast of current and proposed regulations as they affect the management of grants;
  • Assisting with the delivery of programming associated with a National Science Foundation (NSF) GRANTED Award

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher;
  • A minimum of three years of experience working as a research administrator or related field;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills;
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and handle varying workloads;
  • Collegial, team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable - Customer service orientation is essential;
  • Competency with budgeting principles;
  • Knowledge of government funding agency regulations and compliance issues;
