This position works very closely with their client accounts and will focus on prospecting and developing new accounts. Your clients will be as diverse as we are as we supply Foodservice packaging and Broadline facility maintenance solutions to Food, Beverage, Food Manufacturing and Processing, Cold Storage, Biotech and Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Education and Government organizations. Individual Food Service/Cole Supply is the single best source for Foodservice and Facility Maintenance Supplies in Northern California. Our products include Disposable Packaging and Paper Products, Kitchen Ware-washing, Cleaning Chemical Systems, Restroom Paper Products, Hand Hygiene Systems, Personal Protective Equipment, Laundry Systems, and so much more. The IFS/Cole Supply team delivers great value, excellent service, and we go above and beyond to help our client partners achieve their business goals.
What You Need To SucceedWe are looking for outside sales representatives who have the STRONG DESIRE to earn well above average income in a commission driven environment where commission rates far EXCEED the industry standard. We are seeking hungry sellers who want to develop strong relationships and provide creative solutions to help their clients overcome issues, provide solutions, and become a trusted partner. We are looking for people with a solid background in the food service industry to:
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Develop and maintain sales and marketing materials and current product knowledge.
  • Generates additional business through analyzing sales territory and individual customers; samples products with existing and potential customers; plans general sales strategy including time and territory management; plans sales approach with individual customers; and conducts effective sales presentations.
  • Grows sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals.
  • Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing; works with Credit Department for initial authorization; other center personnel for scheduling order-taking, deliveries, etc. Performs initial follow-up work with customer ensuring delivery and product satisfaction.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service by working closely with other center personnel to coordinate efforts to prevent and resolve customer problems. May be personally responsible for making deliveries in emergency situations.
  • Builds additional business with current customers through product penetration in order to maximize profitability of individual accounts.
  • Minimizes accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and follows up on any problems.
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within sales territory, particularly on market driven / commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Participate in company meetings to review sales performance, product development, sales goals and profitability!
  • Performs other related duties as assigned What's in it for you
  • $55K-$75K Base to start (depends on experience) plus bonus with a plan to move to full-commission! No income caps!

What You Need To Apply
  • 3-5 years of successful outside sales experience in B2B with a preference in foodservice supplies sales (i.e. manufacturers rep., or foodservice distribution)
  • Ability to prospect and develop new accounts, developed book of business is preferred
  • Strong work ethic focused on your financial and professional success
  • Maintain and build in-house accounts
  • Candidate must live in the sales territory
  • Excellent time-management
  • Highly motivated and accountable
  • Service and Goal oriented
  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
Additional Requirements
  • Post high school education (i.e. culinary training, AS/BS degree in business management)
  • Exceptional level of motivation, desire, competitiveness, customer-driven focus, time management, multi-tasking and project management skills
  • Ability to manage, develop, and enhance new and existing customer accounts
  • Ability to cold call extensively to develop new business
  • Strong presentation skills and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and general computer usage
  • Sales systems experience i.e. online order entry, sales metrics dashboard or CRM experience
