Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience. This role requires advanced skills to independently perform technically challenging tasks and design custom technical components for specialized customer applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design applicable products using provided CAD systems (2D and 3D); generate production drawings for in-house and subcontracted shops; manage the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish.
• Maintain customer relations by gathering required information through on-site measurements and demonstrating expertise in product discussions with customers.
• Perform technical calculations to ensure the safety and integrity of custom mechanical components; prepare technical documentation and procedures; conduct product inspections and dimensional checks.
• Provide leadership and guidance to support the development of other engineering staff; collaborate with manufacturing personnel in designing jigs and fixtures.
• Support revenue targets by assisting the application team, product, and project managers.
• Create communication documentation to convey key aspects of a design to clients or manufacturing partners.
• Develop, control, and maintain release packages and design history files; participate in development projects and prototype design.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of practical experience.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems.
• Experience with sheet metal design and metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
