Position Summary : We are seeking an experienced Director of Curriculum Development to lead our curriculum design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy and reading intervention strategies, a passion for educational excellence, and the leadership skills to inspire our curriculum team. This role requires a strategic thinker who can create and implement engaging, effective curriculum materials tailored for diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of curriculum content for Brainspring reading programs and workshops, ensuring alignment with current educational standards and best practices in literacy education.
  • Manage and inspire a team of curriculum designers, subject matter experts, and educators to produce high-quality, research-based instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with publications team, product managers, and the self-paced development teams to integrate curriculum with digital platforms and tools.
  • Oversee the evaluation and assessment of program effectiveness, incorporating feedback from surveys, test results, and academic research to enhance the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Instructor and Instructional team using the curriculum, ensuring they are equipped to deliver exceptional training courses.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the company, advocating for innovative approaches to reading intervention and literacy improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree or higher in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy, Reading Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development, with a focus on literacy or reading intervention programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and guiding teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of the science of reading, instructional strategies for struggling readers, and educational/instructional technology tools.
  • Experience in designing curriculum for a variety of educational settings and learner profiles, including digital and blended learning environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform curriculum decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets, or any other device necessary to meet the needs of the department.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our company offers flex hours that can be established with the immediate supervisor.

Travel: Primarily local if any travel to meet with outside vendor support as necessary.
