The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission at Brandeis International Business School is a key recruitment team member tasked with enrolling high quality domestic and international graduate students. The Assistant Director will conduct outbound phone and email work to prospective candidates; staff recruiting events (including virtual events as well as in-person recruitment fairs domestically and/or internationally); interview MBA candidates; read applications and make admissions decision recommendations as part of the admissions committee; and manage the office’s student workers and ambassadors to ensure a high level of customer service for visitors.
Job Description:
  • Converts inquiries to applicants and ultimately enrolled students through proactive, consultative sales outreach via phone, email, and/or digital platforms. (30%)
  • Promotes Brandeis International Business School via virtual events and recruitment travel as needed (both domestic and international) and plays a key role in planning and managing these events. (15%)
  • Reviews applications for admission, and makes informed recommendations on admissibility as a member of the Admissions Committee. (20%)
  • Holds MBA candidate interviews, and uses a consultative sales approach during these interviews to understand candidate’s decision-making factors; tailors outreach and follow-up to address these decision-making factors in order to improve yield. (10%)
  • Manages student workers, including hiring student workers and ensuring adequate in-office coverage.(10%)
  • Creates and manages a new prospective student visit plan that ensures visiting candidates have a seamless visit experience. (15%)
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in college admissions, sales, marketing, recruiting, or staffing preferred. For those with less than 2 years of work experience, consideration will also be given to candidates who have a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration or Business Administration.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to represent the graduate programs within and outside Brandeis and comfortable with outbound phone work and presentations.
  • Creative and proactive team member who is excited to build new, scalable processes alongside other admissions team members.
  • Hybrid work environment- the ideal candidate will work 3 days in the office per week and will be remote 2 days per week.
  • Excitement to travel to recruitment fairs both domestically and internationally.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Bilingual candidates, specifically candidates who have a working knowledge of Mandarin, are encouraged to apply.
