Position Summary:
As the 1st shift Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee all aspects of quality control and assurance processes, from incoming raw materials to final product release. Your role will involve assisting with implementing and maintaining quality management systems, conducting audits, and leading a team of quality control technicians. You will collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and regulatory affairs teams to continuously improve processes and maintain a culture of quality excellence.
Requirements:1. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and food safety standards (e.g., USDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF).
2. Assist with management and maintenance of the quality management system, including document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and change management processes.
3. Assist with establishing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling, processing, and packaging food products to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
4. Monitor and analyze production processes and product quality data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
5. Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Train and mentor quality control technicians and production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
7. Assist in coordinating with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and certifications.
8. Assist and participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve quality objectives.
9. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to mean processing and quality assurance.
10. Assist with review and approval of product artwork and labels.
11. Act as a backup site SQF Practitioner.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles in the food industry, preferably in food processing.
· Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems. (HAACP, GMP, SQF).
· Experience with food safety audits, inspections, and certifications.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively manage and solve quality issues.
· Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence positive change.
