Position: Scale House Operator/Dispatcher – Aggregate Plant

Reports To: Site Manager

FLSA Status: Full Time / Non-Exempt

Location: BrannanCentral City Plant

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Position Summary:

As the Scale House Operator/Dispatcher you are responsible for weighing trucks entering and leaving the quarry, providing timely and accurate tickets to customers ensuring the smooth flow of traffic across the scale, logging information relevant to each truck, including vehicle type, tags, and driver. You will accurately enter data into the computer software for computation, reconciliation and recordkeeping purposes. The ideal candidate is someone who can build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships, and who consistently displays a safety-first attitude.

Core Responsibilities:

· Operate dual scales, weighing commercial trucks loaded with aggregate products.

· Responsible for the coordination of dispatch orders to ensure maximum efficiency of trucking.

· Answer customer calls, process credit card transactions, and assist the plant manager with general office administrative support.

· Follow required Brannan administrative procedures such as daily recordkeeping for production activities.

· Keep the scale office/work areas clean and organized.

· Maintain all required MSHA certifications and Training records.

Qualifications:

· Excellent customer service skills, continuously displaying a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the public.

· Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook email, etc.

· Ability to prepare and bill large/complex client invoices via credit card.

· Have a basic understanding of various aspects of the aggregate trucking industry.

· Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining composure and professionalism.

· Ability to perform all job functions in a manner that ensures consistent utilization of Standard Operating Procedures.

· Must have a safety-first attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.

· Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

· Must be able to use sound judgment and make objective decisions in Brannan’s best interest at all times.

· Willing to work hours that are associated to the aggregate industry, including overtime and weekends as needed.

· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

· Able to pass a pre-employment background, physical and drug screen.

· 3-5 years of experience required.

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Bilingual a plus.

Physical Requirements:

· Continuous, prolonged periods of sitting and standing.

· Able to climb stairs regularly.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

· Occasionally be required to use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch.

Work Environment:

· Exposed to outside weather conditions and frequently changing temperatures and environments.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
