We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join us in furthering this work. Brattleboro Union High School seeks a dynamic educator to serve as a Department Chair for the Band and Chorus Departments. The Department Chair will provide leadership for a three-person department. This Department Chair serves as a leader within the larger school community by serving on the leadership team. The department chair is responsible for developing and maintaining a department budget and an annual action plan based on our Core Values of respect, responsibility, relevance and community. Successful candidates must be conversant with best practices in implementing proficiency based practices. The Department Chair will work closely with the assistant principal and will report directly to the principal. This position is 2/3 of a full-time teaching assignment and the remainder of the day is devoted to working with staff and other department business. Successful candidates will be able to discuss their expertise and experience working with students from historically marginalized demographic groups.
