We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join us in furthering this work. Brattleboro Union High School seeks a dynamic school counselor with a strong student philosophy. Responsible for providing academic, career/college, and personal/social counseling services to high school students. Successful candidates will have solid knowledge of high school students’ developmental needs and strong communication and consultation skills. Primary duties will encompass working in partnership within the school community to ensure academic success for all students. Coordination with local support organizations and mental health providers is an essential part of this position. Applicants will be conversant in the BUHS core values, best practices in creating trauma informed communities and have experience working with students from historically marginal demographics. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a Vermont teaching license.Successful candidates will be able to discuss their expertise and experience working with students from historically marginalized demographic groups. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree, with a concentration in school counseling or the equivalent. Must have completed a supervised internship experience of at least 600 hours in counseling with a minimum of 60 hours of experience in school counseling at both the elementary and the middle/secondary level.
