CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT - Position Overview

To provide supervision oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating subcontractors, workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule.

Reports To

This position reports directly to the Project Manager(s); however, will also complete projects for and take direction from the Vice President.

Essential Functions

Essential functions of this position include (but are not limited to):

• Develop, track and control construction schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources to achieve completion of project on-time. Continuous updates to the project schedule and issues to Project Manager at a minimum every month. Create detailed 2 week look ahead schedules weekly. Report, track and acts on schedule delays.
• Coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
• Supervise performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural, engineering drawings and approved submittals to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed.
• Responsible for the oversight of all building department inspections and closing out all inspections/permits.
• Address any reported difficulties including creating RFI’s for submittal to architect upon review by Project Manager.
• Monitors the jobsite safety conditions and acts to remediate deficiencies immediately.
• Report progress and any necessary modifications of plans to Project Manager.
• Quality Control of all trades work.
• Daily reports of jobsite activities and issues.
• Creating and completing punch list.
• Computer literacy with knowledge using email, Microsoft Project and Procore or other project management software

Qualifications

• General Contractor Superintendent with minimum 5 years commercial ground up and/or construction experience including offsite and onsite construction.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures such as highways and roads, as well as relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure the safe and efficient construction thereof.
• Skilled with building and updating project schedules with MS Project or similar programs.
• High degree of accuracy, organization and attention to detail.
• Sound judgment and ability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
