FULL TIME AND PART TIMESUMMARY: Enhance the quality of life of residents through the provisions of hands on care giving that meets physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs in accordance with the mission and established practices of Brethren Retirement Community..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (*Other duties may be assigned)• Provides quality care to residents assigned to him/her by:
• Performing and or a assisting resident with his/her activities of daily living as required in the plan of care and working with him/her to reach and maintain his/her optimal level of functioning.
• Delivering and documenting Restorative Nursing Programs. Maintaining residents’ rights and confidentiality of resident information.
• Following established procedures in a manner that meets outlined standards of quality assurance, environmental safety, and infection control in compliance with local, State, and Federal requirements.
• Using proper equipment and supplies in a cost effective manner.
• Reporting resident needs, concerns, and condition changes to the Charge Nurse.
• Organizing and prioritizing assigned duties so as to complete work on a timely basis yet consider resident’s preferences.
• Documenting services provided timely and correctly.
• Utilize problem solving techniques within the scope of the job description and seek or refer to other staff if need other solutions outside your authority.
• Promote good employee, interdepartmental and public relations by:
• Cooperating with other staff members as a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the Mission Statement of Brethren Retirement Community. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and pleasant environment.
• Deal tactfully and courteously with residents, family members, visitors, and general public.
• Conversing with residents, resident family, and members of team to determine needs of resident.
• Enhance professional and personal growth and development through attendance at educational programs, in-services and scheduled meetings by:
  • Developing interpersonal skills through training
  • Participating in in-service offerings.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:A minimum of an eighth grade education; sixteen years of age.
