Brevard College is Hiring a Manager of Annual Giving Programs Near Brevard, NC

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position manages the annual fund by using appeals across all platforms (direct mail, social media, digital, phone, etc.) and vehicles (gifts, pledges, matching gifts, etc.), including acknowledgments, celebrations, and other follow-up as appropriate. In addition, this position will work with the Athletics Department at Brevard College to manage each team’s fundraising efforts. As the Manager of Annual Giving Programs, this position will also conduct discovery calls for new donors and visit donors as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Training:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, four-year institution; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in digital, print, and in-person environments
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with consistent follow-through
  • Ability to organize and operationalize an annual giving calendar of activities to secure unrestricted gifts and assist the team to reach a six-figure goal every year
  • Ability to manage and motivate volunteers and student workers
  • Resourceful self-motivator who takes initiative, has a sense of humor, and manages multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Creative enjoyment of design and layout for a variety of print and digital needs (social media, e-newsletters, invitations, event programs)
  • Competent computer skills: Jenzabar; Microsoft Word and Excel; social media (Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn); Constant Contact; GiveCampus; InDesign or Canva design programs preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel independently on a limited basis; Valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Light work – exerts up to 20 lbs of force occasionally. Stooping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motors

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Following the strategic plan, work closely with the AAD team to create and manage the fiscal year calendar of annual giving campaigns and athletics fundraising campaigns. (details below)
    • Manage the creation and execution of appeals
    • Coordinate the creation-through-printing of materials to produce engaging appeals and follow-up correspondence that features personalized, high-touch donor appreciation and stewardship including the monthly stewardship letters, newsletters, and pledge reminders
    • Coordinate the planning, organizing, and execution of the annual giving campaign (Brevard Annual Fund) to meet the unrestricted goal set annually by the Executive Leadership Team and approved by the Board of Trustees
    • Plan and execute the annual day of giving
    • Increase membership in the President’s Society annually
    • Manage all athletics fundraising by working with each team individually, using email marketing through Constant Contact, and using GiveCampus for campaign management.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective donors for major gift discovery and increased annual giving (25-50)
    • Utilize leadership annual donors to determine major gift prospects
    • Conduct identification/discovery calls monthly focused on growing annual support and major gift prospects.
    • Provide prospects for increased giving to the Director of Development for assignment and relationship development
  • Must maintain and update a procedure/resource manual for this position
  • Other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervise work study students as needed to help with Annual Giving priorities

EXPECTATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with AAD team to meet annual, endowment, and capital goals throughout the year
  • Work regularly with the Vice-President, Director of Development, and Director of Development as new gift prospects are discovered; serve on the moves management team to coordinate cultivation strategies

AUTHORITY/ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Reports to Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development, and works closely with the Director of Development.
