Brevard Humane Society is Hiring a Grant Writer Near Merritt, FL

Job Summary:

The Brevard Humane Society is seeking a part-time opportunity for a grant writer to oversee the organizational grant writing program from our Merritt Island location. Must be able to work independently and identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities. They will develop, write, and submit grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. Must possess excellent written communication skills to craft compelling proposals that align with grant specifications. Research skills are also essential to thoroughly understand organizational goals and needs, as well as finding any new funding opportunities available.

Responsibilities:

- Research, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals
- Manage grant applications and timelines effectively
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with funders
- Collaborate with program staff to gather information for proposals
- Monitor and report on grant progress and outcomes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grant guidelines and requirements

Skills:

- Proficiency in contract management
- Strong strategic planning abilities
- Experience working with databases
- Knowledge of program development processes
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge software
- Exceptional writing skills, including technical writing and proofreading
- Ability to write compelling narratives for grant applications
- Understanding of budgeting and financial report writing

If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for securing funding to support impactful programs, we encourage you to apply. A grant writing certificate is a plus. Pay is negotiable and dependent upon experience.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
