Estimator Assistant
Duties include assisting estimators as follows:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope, conditions, and potential opportunities.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to create comprehensive cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients within specified deadlines.
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals.
- Track and maintain accurate records of project costs, changes, and updates.
- Provide ongoing support to project teams by assisting with value engineering, cost control measures, and change order management.
Experience:
-Must have computer skills, be knowledgeable in Microsoft programs such as excel.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficient in Spanish and English.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Willing to learn assigned tasks.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
-Self-motivated, able to stay focused with minimal supervision.
