Position Description

Emtec is seeking a Senior SDET to join on us on a full-time basis. You will be part of an automation testing team supporting an enterprise level, multi-tenant SAAS product. This team is responsible for building a test framework from scratch, and developing test cases using the latest technologies and protocols – including GraphQL, Kafka, and front end testing. In addition to hands on coding, you will also be leading a team of 3-4 SDETS, working with engineering managers to understand requirements, assisting in project planning, and working with your team on escalateding tehcnial issues. 

Core technology Stack: You will mainly be working with Cypress, as well as modern technologies and protocols – including GraphQL, Kafka, and front end testing. 

Workplace: This position can be worked remotely, but for 100% remote candidates, must be willing to travel and able to travel to the US when needed (approx. oncer per quarter)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and developing automation framework, tools, and test scripts for Cypress
• Work on automation testing for UI as well as API
• Develop test script and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure quality of deliveries
• Participation in project coordination, delivery, and supporting all testing tasks, starting from story grooming, and refinement up to implementation and retro
• Identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types
• In addition to hands on coding, you will also be leading a team of 3-4 SDETS, working with engineering managers to understand requirements, assisting in project planning, and working with your team on escalateding tehcnial issues. 

Must Have Skills:

• 6-10 years of experience in the field of automation testing.
• In-depth knowledge of any object-oriented programming language and at least 2 years experiences of using Cypress.
• In-depth knowledge of UI Automation, at least 2 years experience of automating UI
• Experience leading a team of testers
• Experience in CICD such as using GitHub Actions, Jenkins etc.
• Automating end-to-end test scenarios of UI Application
• Experience with Agile software development processes and practices
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about troubleshooting failures to determine root cause

• Applicants for employment in the Canada must have the ability and/or possess a travel Visa to be able to travel to the US on a quarterly basis

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experiences as full stack developer
• Previous experience with Typescript, JavaScript, Nodejs, Unix shell scripting
