This position will be designated to Carrigan Middle School, West Haven, CT
$7,5000 sign-on bonus
$51,484 - $67,810 per year

PURPOSE and POSITION OVERVIEW FOR SCHOOL BASED SERVICES CLINICIAN
Provide school-based psychotherapy and case management to children and families experiencing behavioral health issues.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and traditional treatment and evidence based treatment to children/adolescents and their families.
- Provide individual, parenting, family and group modalities of treatment as needed.
- Provide case management services as needed.
- Maintain client documentation in electronic health records as required.
- Facilitate evidence based treatment groups in school setting
- Facilitate parent support groups
- Establish and maintain working relationships with school personnel
- Perform any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES
Masters degree in behavioral health field required.
Associate license required, Full license preferred.
Ability to work flexible schedule, with early mornings and some evenings required
Knowledge of child development and psychiatric disorders.
Experience with evidence based practices (TFCBT, MATCH, ARC, DBT -adolescent) preferred
Experience working in a school setting preferred
Good communication and documentation skills.
Computer literacy.
Experience in counseling/therapeutic methods/practices with children and families.
Sensitivity to diverse cultures and language competencies.
Ability to prioritize and organize schedules/demands.
CBITS training prior to hire preferred; CBITS training required upon hire
Access to reliable transportation on a consistent basis.
*The bonus will be made through payroll in two payments: $3,750 in the first payroll after 30 days of employment, and $3,750 the first payroll after the staff member successfully completes their 6 month probationary period.
