Summary:
A Therapist at Bridges of Hope is instrumental in our client’s treatment and recovery from an addiction disorder. Our therapists provide high-quality, compassionate care through various mediums, which include both individual and group counseling sessions. The counselor will plan, oversee, facilitate, and document their client's recovery while providing leadership and guidance for the activities at the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders, if licensed.
Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (stepping up to be a team player), yet can make decisions individually
Empathy, understanding, and respectful behavior towards clients and their family members, coworkers, outpatient providers, etc.
Good time management skills with the ability to be flexible with changing situations
Being able to set and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
Professionalism / Punctual and dependable and respectful of staff and clients show understanding and empathy
The desire to learn more to continue growth and development
Organized and able to work with multiple client’s cases at one time
Understands the importance of treatment and follow-up with aftercare
Able to work in the community and to reach out to other agencies to facilitate a transfer to a different LOC
Ability to maintain boundaries while collaborating with clients, alumni, and their families.
Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize workload
Understands the need for and always maintains appropriate confidentiality when interacting with alumni, families, and all other clients and contacts following Clients Rights and HIPAA.
Understands and maintains a professional demeanor while representing Bridges of Hope.
Ability to exercise sound judgment when overseeing a variety of issues
Requirements for telehealth, and working in multiple locations may be required
Check shift notes daily, as well as chart summary. Address any issues that are documented in either one
Participation in scheduled caseload groups as well as prepare and lead groups per group schedule and document group notes
Participate in weekly department head and weekly clinical staffing meeting
Coordinate care with other providers – both within BOH and any outpatient providers
Address urgent client needs
Coordinate care with the therapist, medical and BHTs
Update all interaction with a client in a case management note
On-call 24/7 one week per month
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree (preferred) in a behavioral health-related field (such as social work, psychology, addiction studies, counseling, etc.).
Indiana license as a behavioral health provider (LCSW, LCAC, LMHC, LMFT, or LSW, LAC, LAC-A) -preferred
Two years' experience in the addiction treatment field while working with clients in a 12-step program preferred.
Knowledge of Mental Health and addiction recovery
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a high level of flexibility and diplomacy
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft office suite
CPR/ BLS certification within (60 days of hire)
Valid driver’s license required
Proof of insurance

Hearing - Hear normal speaking level sounds (person-to-person), Hear alarms (monitors, fire alarms, code alarms)
Visual - See information up to 24 inches away (monitors, computer screens, skin conditions), See objects up to 20 feet away (patient in room), Use depth perception, Use of peripheral vision.
Strength - Squeeze with hands (operate fire extinguisher)
Other - Reach above shoulders/overhead, Reach below the waist (electrical plugs, etc.), Reach in front (assist patient with arms out), Pick up objects with hands, Write with pen, Use computer (type), Pinch/pick or otherwise work with fingers (use keyboard, etc.), Twist at waist, Twist wrists/hands (turn objects/knobs using hands).
