Used Car Director Briggs Auto Group Topeka, Kansas The Used Car Director has the overall responsibility for the purchases of pre-owned vehicles to stock the three Topeka Briggs' locations. This includes travel to and from various auction locations, securing vehicle transportation to our facility, and the arbitration of any purchase not meeting Briggs/ auction standards.
Develop and monitor a detailed business plan that includes desking managers in the correct vehicle stocking levels for their lot.
Needs to have a complete understanding and fully trained on the Vehicle Inventory Management tool used by Briggs Auto. (Currently Vincue)
Perform market research on used vehicles to include but not limited to Auction Sites, VinCue, third party vendors (ex. Cars.com) and others to determine the correct mix and age/price structure of pre-owned vehicles for the Topeka Market.
Assist in the disposition of that inventory, whether at retail or wholesale to maximize gross profit and minimize wholesale loss on a monthly basis.
Assist in determining the best pricing strategy based on market conditions for the Topeka Market.
Assist in completing the final bid for all trades in Topeka market.
Constantly monitor the websites to ensure quality content of all Pre Owned inventory.
Work directly with desk managers and recon manager to ensure the fastest and most accurate PR's and completion times possible in Recon. (days to lot)
Keep the Pre Owned Inventory fresh. Utilize sales meetings as opportunities to get face to face with salespeople to "sell the sizzle" and build excitement around used car inventory.
Monitor Customer demand for pre-owned vehicles and maintain pre-owned inventory that mirrors that demand.
Communicate with all Managers on all matters relating to the inventory for sale and what pre owned inventory must be located using the CRM- Must Locate Process
Maintain a 60 day supply or less of used vehicle inventory to ensure it does not become stale- a 45 day supply is preferred.
Work with the Controller/GM to make sure Preowned vehicles stay within floor plan limits.
Lead the Weekly Used Meeting-Every Friday at 11
Hand sell as many of your previous customers monthly as possible.
