The Abudayyeh-Gootenberg lab (abugootlab.org) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is looking for a talented postdoctoral associate to join the team to study stem cells using genome-scale functional genomics approaches and single cell technologies in the context of aging. We are interested in fundamental and universal mechanisms of aging and using functional genomics to discover new targets and modalities for extending lifespan. In addition, we will leverage high-content data across different cell types to build machine learning models that can better identify targets for anti-aging interventions and beyond.

This is a unique opportunity for you to work with cutting-edge technology development initiatives within the AbuGoot lab, focusing on stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, gene therapy, cell therapy, and advanced machine learning approaches. The project is highly collaborative with other experimental and computational lab members.

The AbuGoot lab is a fast-paced and energetic group working at the frontier of molecular tool development. The lab actively encourages creativity and leadership from our postdoctoral fellows, who generally will lead multiple projects and teams within the lab.

Responsibilities will include molecular cloning, protein design, bacterial assays, mammalian cell culture, directed evolution, and animal work; working closely with research technicians, postdocs, bioinformaticians, students, and principal investigators; engaging with the scientific community through collaborations, conference talks, and publications. The position is ideal for someone interested in making a major impact in the cellular engineering and regenerative medicine fields while working in a fast-paced environment with a creative team.
