We are looking for a Research Technician (Part-Time) with experience in the acquisition, banking, assay and analysis of human blood and cerebrospinal fluid samples to assess biomarkers of neurodegenerative disease. Applicant must have strong organizational skills, and the ability to attain a high degree of independence in a new and dynamic research environment. Two central tasks will be 1) assist in the acquisition, banking, and analysis of human blood samples and 2) to assist in the assay and analysis of blood-based biomarkers for neurodegenerative disease. Qualified candidates must have experience in image and biofluid biomarker assessment and analysis.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
2. Maintains tissue cultures and performs molecular biology techniques including sequencing, cloning, and viral transfections.
3. May handle animals (including stereotactic surgeries) .
4. Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.
5. Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.
6. Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.
7. All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in a biological/physical science required.
Ideally 1-2 years of previous experience in a research environment.
