Bright Horizons is Hiring a Principal Quality Engineer, EdAssist Near Newton, MA

We are seeking an experienced and innovative individual to join our team as a Principal Quality Engineer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the excellence and integrity of our software products through strategic quality engineering practices.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership in quality engineering, influencing best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement comprehensive test strategies.
  • Design and implement robust and scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Ensure the efficient execution of automated test suites, maximizing coverage and reliability.
  • Oversee performance testing efforts, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and scalability issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize software performance across various scenarios.
  • Conduct risk assessments and define mitigation strategies to ensure product quality.
  • Proactively identify potential quality issues and work with teams to address them in early development stages.
  • Lead initiatives to improve testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into quality engineering practices.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Conduct manual testing as needed, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Collaborate with the team to strike a balance between automated and manual testing based on project requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on software testing.
  • Experience leading projects and people on a software development team.
  • Proven team player, independent thinker, out-of-the-box thinker, and self-learner.
  • Expertise in designing, executing, and maintaining a test automation suite using tools like Cypress or Selenium with BDD using Gherkin.
  • Ability to teach strong design, coding, and hands-on debugging skills.
  • Involvement in working with DevOps teams to evolve automated software builds, regression testing, and release management processes in the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, BrowserStack, or similar tools.
  • Expert analytical skills, with the ability to coach others on assessing data flows and identifying root causes of identified issues.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining a Performance Test suite with the ability to run and understand results.
  • Dedication to working in a collaborative team environment, establishing defined process standards.
  • Ability to remain positive even during fast-paced, potentially stressful situations.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to help team members prioritize their work to meet business deliverables.
  • Certifications in quality engineering or related fields are a plus.
