Bright Innovation Labs is Hiring a Senior Buyer Near Coolidge, AZ

  • SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
Primarily assists purchasing manager in purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors, analyzing vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers, components, supplies and chemicals for the company.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.
  • Run & analyze "MRP" (material requirements planning) report daily for raw material and components. SAP experience required
  • Plan and purchase all raw materials, components, and indirect materials, supplies and services
  • Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers
  • Update material/supplier lead times, pricing and MOQ (min order quantities) in ERP system
  • Issue purchase order for quality control & R&D for outside process testing
  • Monitor and maintain open purchase order report
  • Expedite and/or cancel purchase orders (and update system with the appropriate comments and/or dates)
  • Quote new and existing raw materials, components indirect materials and services
  • Source existing and new business as needed
  • Request new samples as needed
  • Work with customer service and provide a list of excess raw materials and components
  • Report and maintain regulatory changes on raw materials and components, i.e., testing, hazardous, etc.
  • Constantly look for cost savings through negotiating lower price or switching suppliers
  • Monitor and maintain open purchase order report
  • Provide support for entire purchasing group
  • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business code of ethics
  • Select or provide insight and guidance in the selection of vendors, consultants, and contractors
  • Research potential new suppliers for raw materials and services.
  • Write and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposals; receive and analyze bids, quotes, and proposals, and award the contract.
  • Work more independently and assist buyers with guidance and training as needed.
  • Must be able to manipulate and analyze data with Microsoft Excel i.e., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.
  • Promote compliance with Bright Innovation Labs policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as safety and environmental regulations. Participate, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions
  • Select or provide insight and guidance in the selection of vendors, consultants, and contractors

  • Knowledge of purchasing and basic understanding of supply chain management
  • Must have advance skills in using Excel
  • Must possess a strong attention to details, be highly organized and have strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and follow internal purchasing control procedures
  • Flexibility with schedule including shift work
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    • POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
    This is a full-time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day depending on shift assigned.
  • TRAVEL
    • No travel is expected for this position.
    • REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor's degree in related field AND minimum 4 years of buying experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
    • PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE LANGUAGE SKILLS
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Ability to effectively communicate and successfully interact with coworkers, administrative staff, outside vendors, both orally and with written correspondence.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponent, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
    • REASONING ABILITY Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables

  • ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
    • English language and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • WORK AUTHORIZATION
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a pre-condition of employment.
