Chief Technology Officer

We are seeking a CTO that can lead the technological development to help revolutionize an exciting med device robotics startup. The CTO will establish the technology vision, strategies, and plans for growth and ensure that the technology strategy and business strategy are aligned.

Duties:

• Set company technical vision and lead the company’s technological development
• Develop strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technical, infrastructure, and software services.
• Ensure alignment between Company Vision/Strategy and Product/Service offerings
• Collaborate cross-functionally regarding the technologies the company is deploying
• Ensure technology and regulatory standards and best practices are met and that they are used efficiently, profitably, and securely
• Establish software development process to best practice and relevant regulations and set objectives for processes
• Mentor and develop team members
• Manage and oversee adherence to security best practices and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement risk mitigation and disaster recovery plan
• Define company standards for systems, equipment, and software
• Evaluate internal systems and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• 10 years of experience developing complex electromechanical medical devices
• Experience leading software and hardware teams (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls)
• 5 years of experience leading software teams
• 5 years of experience workig with robotics, industrial automation, etc.
• Ability to skillfully manage, develop, motivate, inspire, and direct others within a fast-paced and dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience putting project plans together from scratch
• Experience reporting to a CEO is a huge plus
• Proven ability to interact and communicate with senior C-level executives
• Highly collaborative with team orientation; flexible in personal interactions at all levels of the company.
• Creative, strategic, and thoughtful “hands-on” leader with “can-do” leadership approach.
• Results and goal-oriented with the ability to demonstrate excellent judgment, solution orientation, and appropriate level of risk-taking.
