Job Description
Title Labeling Compliance Manager
Location Hebron, KY ( onsite )
Position Overview
Responsible for the correct and accurate application of all food labeling information, on all Galerie food products. Manage Label Tech and/or Label Compliance Specialist, including organizing and prioritizing department tasks and ensure meeting deadlines for completion of label content for Graphics Request System. Consumer Packaging Graphics (CPG) is a must!
Scope of Responsibilities
Labeling & Compliance:
Determine proper nutrition information panel formats and content.
Maintain current knowledge base on FDA, Customs and labeling regulations.
Stay abreast of industry and regulatory updates and changes.
Maintain compliance information as required for customers.
Maintain and update supplier ingredient/nutrition data as needed and supplied by PD.
Organize filing system for standard labels for easy accurate retrieval by graphics & label techs.
Maintain awareness of department priorities and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
Verify standard ingredient items on an annual basis - working with candy sourcing (PD) staff.
Provide input to merchandising teams on label requirements to be considered in package design.
Resolve supplier ingredient declarations discrepancies when they do not meet required format.
Determine allergen disclosure statements based on customer requirements and the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004.
Coordinate delivery of label artwork for review by third party lab as required by testing procedures. Work with Product Testing Coordinator to quickly resolve any testing failures.
Review final art for label content sign-offs as necessary.
Support:
Provide support to production by printing in-house labels as needed.
Provide backup to Consumer Services.
Provide backup to the QA Manager.
Act as Internal Auditor for Food Safety Team.
Member of Vendor Compliance Team.

Candidate Profile
Experience Base
Degree in food technology or nutrition science, or a combination of specific food regulatory experience, education or training.
Strong knowledge of Federal Code Title 21 CFR content as applies to food labeling including determination of nutrition information panel formats and content, ingredient listing requirements and nomenclature, ability to determine suitability of food additives use in specific products as may be required by regulations.
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in a constantly changing environment.
Strong organizational skills, work ethic & ability to work with limited supervision.
Focused on execution and delivering to deadlines.
Previous experience in supervision of direct staff members preferred.
Trained in HACCP.
Trained in Internal Auditing.
