Job Tittle - Project Engineer

Client Summary -

We are a full-service motion and control solutions provider based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With 50 years of experience in fluid power design, hydraulic systems, pneumatic control, and electro-mechanical solutions, we are a trusted provider. We engineer solutions for the oil and gas, rigging and recovery, power generation, construction, manufacturing, process and pipeline industries. We specialize in designing and fabricating custom hydraulic power units, hydraulic valve actuators, and hydraulic winch packages.

Position Summary -

The Project Engineer leverages product performance and customer feedback to continuously improve and design new products to cater to different industries. This role collaborates closely with internal fabrication and assembly personnel, as well as other production support groups, to optimize production processes and troubleshoot systems or components for product and process improvement.

Responsibilities -

  • Designing and analyzing hydraulic systems based on customer needs and product performance.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to develop comprehensive hydraulic designs and engineering plans.
  • Design and produce detailed 3D layout models and drawings of the whole unit including skids/frame for production using SolidWorks.
  • Performing hydraulic calculations, simulations, and modeling to predict the behavior and performance of hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and troubleshooting of electrical system design including motor starter panel, variable speed drive, PLC’S and control panel wiring.
  • Overseeing the construction and installation of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepares functional test procedures for packaged equipment.
  • Provides technical support to manufacturing during fabrication of equipment and participates in LEAN manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
  • Aids field personnel during onsite field checks and commissioning of equipment.
  • Supports applications engineering on technical issues related to preparation of proposals.
  • Develops engineering design tools and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of work.
  • Identifies and executes product standardization opportunities and participates in new product development programs.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in designing and analyzing hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions based on engineering principles and best practices.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.

Ideal Candidate -

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.
  • Good years of design experience related to mechanical hydraulic machinery and electrical system design required.
  • Perform Hydraulic, heat transfer, & thermodynamic calculations.
  • Ability to draw and read hydraulic and electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Experience with 3D modelling & making detailed drawings using SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience in programming PLC & HMI a plus.
