About The RoleAs a Psychologist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with diverse abilities. Whether you are experienced or a recent graduate, you will receive continuous support and professional development. The position focuses on providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, fostering well-being, and promoting social engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions for clients across various age groups and conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Psychosocial Disability, and Physical Disabilities.
  • Provide assistive technology recommendations and applications.
  • Work within different funding models, primarily the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and occasionally Medicare and private schemes.
  • Travel to community settings for interventions, with options for office-based and telehealth services.
  • Maintain accurate invoicing, achieve target billable hours, and manage client cases effectively.
  • Communicate transparently with all stakeholders and ensure timely documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, supervision, and professional development sessions.
  • Develop strong relationships with therapists, clients, and referral sources.
  • Understand and comply with NDIS standards and the organisation's policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities for Psychologist/Provisional Psychologist:
  • Conduct assessments and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in children and adults with disabilities.
  • Select appropriate psychological assessments, interpret clinical data, and provide comprehensive reports and recommendations.
Selection Criteria:Essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or valid exemption.
  • Police Check and International Police Check (if applicable).
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
  • Appropriate working rights to work in Australia.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Training in specific therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Salary: $75k - $100k Super
