About The RoleAs a Psychologist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with diverse abilities. Whether you are experienced or a recent graduate, you will receive continuous support and professional development. The position focuses on providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, fostering well-being, and promoting social engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions for clients across various age groups and conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Psychosocial Disability, and Physical Disabilities.
- Provide assistive technology recommendations and applications.
- Work within different funding models, primarily the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and occasionally Medicare and private schemes.
- Travel to community settings for interventions, with options for office-based and telehealth services.
- Maintain accurate invoicing, achieve target billable hours, and manage client cases effectively.
- Communicate transparently with all stakeholders and ensure timely documentation.
- Participate in meetings, supervision, and professional development sessions.
- Develop strong relationships with therapists, clients, and referral sources.
- Understand and comply with NDIS standards and the organisation's policies and procedures.
- Conduct assessments and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in children and adults with disabilities.
- Select appropriate psychological assessments, interpret clinical data, and provide comprehensive reports and recommendations.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology.
- Registration with the relevant professional body.
- Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or valid exemption.
- Police Check and International Police Check (if applicable).
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
- Appropriate working rights to work in Australia.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Training in specific therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
