Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a Grant Application and Compliance Specialist to join our team!

As Grant Application and Compliance Specialist, Broadband Office, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting broadband grant applications, including drafting narratives, legal and business documents, analyzing data and proofreading materials, and then compiling and submitting grant applications
  • Preparing, reviewing, and tracking all documentation, changes, and processes for Brightspeed’s broadband grants
  • Maintaining operational guides and documentation to ensure consistency of broadband grant reporting across all projects
  • Review and validate records and reports to ensure metrics are reported in compliance with requirements and internal KPIs
  • Work across various internal organizations to review potential process changes that may have performance-impacting results. Proactively assist those organizations to ensure changes do not result in the company being out of compliance with grant requirements.
  • Read and disseminate information on grant requirements including attending webinars, analyzing and summarizing key elements of grant rules
  • Address other compliance and grant application requirements as needed
  • Perform other grant and application related work that may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Certification or other relevant and practical work experience, which may include legal, grant-writing, regulatory filing experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work simultaneously on multiple projects; to prioritize the workload based on deadlines and importance of tasks; and to complete work in a timely manner with energy, intelligence, and a drive for success.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, integrate and analyze complex information from multiple sources
  • Experience with operational and project management systems and applications within the network and communication industry 
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate via written and oral communication
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams
  • Experience with on-line portals, such as salesforce or SAP, and project management software such as Monday.com.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with state regulatory commissions who regulate wireline telecommunications providers or broadband grant work
  • Telecom/Cable/Internet Service Provider industry experience
