Brightways Counseling group is hiring a full-time, experienced Accounting Specialist to offer a high level of support to our team. This role will report directly to the COO/CEO and will be responsible to manage and maintain the financial transactions for the company. We are looking for someone who can analyze data to help us make wise decisions as we grow and handle the day-to-day functions of accounting. The ideal candidate will be someone highly organized, maintain strong attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills, and of course, have a passion for accounting! Essential Job Duties
Financial Analysis
  • Analyze financial data, including financial statements, industry trends, and other pertinent information.
  • Assist in development of KPIs to track business performance.
  • Develop financial plans and reports.
  • Advise company on financial strategy.
  • Develop reporting and forecasting tools to help with future performance.
Bookkeeping
  • Record transactions, including sales, invoices, purchases, expenses, and payments.
  • Post transactions, including posting transactions to various accounts
  • Process payments and pay invoices and bills.
  • Update ledgers.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank accounts.
  • Produce various reports, including preparing trial balances and monthly financial reports to help with financial decisions.
  • Maintain compliance by filing documents for taxation compliance and ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date.
Taxes
  • Collaborate with external CPA and tax advisors to prepare tax documents.
  • Strategize tax planning when needed.
  • Stay up to date with current compliance and laws around state taxes.
  • Assist and file out of state taxes.
Accounting
  • Oversee the allocation of company funds and budget tracking.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and procedures around the financials of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Prepare financial reports and present them to management as needed.
  • Manage the company's investment portfolio and make recommendations on financial strategies.
  • Monitor cash flow and forecast future financial trends.
  • Liaise with external auditors, accountants, Insurance agents and financial institutions.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in bookkeeping, accounting or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in accounting.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial related laws and regulations. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Efficiency and time management skills. 
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must provide own home office setup (space, desk, chair).

What We Offer
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary at $70,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.
  • 4 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year, pro-rated amount based on hire date. 
  • 9 paid holidays each year.
